The first permanent geoelectric monitoring system for a waterproofing barrier was installed by Sensor, spol. s r.o. in 1991 near Bratislava at a toxic waste landfill. This system is still active and fully functional today, demonstrating a successful model of long-term environmental protection through waterproofing liner integrity monitoring. By continuously monitoring the liner’s tightness, the system helps prevent contamination from leaking from the landfill into the subsoil and groundwater.
Over more than 35 years on the market, Sensor has developed a portfolio of products under the globally recognised SENSOR DDS® trademark, helping establish a new industrial field known as geoelectric systems for liner integrity control.
For one-time in-situ integrity testing of exposed or covered liners with immediate results, we use our portable systems SENSOR DDS® MIT Arc Tester and SENSOR DDS® Mobile. For permanent long-term monitoring, we have developed liner integrity monitoring systems with manual or automatic interpretation for the detection and location of defects in the liner.
In 2017, we introduced the 4th generation of our revolutionary exposed liner testing device – the SENSOR DDS® MIT Arc Tester. It delivers even faster productivity, improved energy efficiency and greater performance compared with previous models.
All our systems for detecting and locating leaks in liners are developed, designed and manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 quality standards and comply with all applicable EU standards. All components of permanent SENSOR DDS® systems are certified by the prestigious German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing – BAM. This BAM certificate guarantees a minimum service life of 30 years for all components.
