Geomembrane and Liner Integrity Monitoring
SENSOR DDS® Monitoring Systems

Geomembrane and liner integrity monitoring does not begin only when a leak appears. Proper liner protection starts from the first day of installation – and continues for as long as the structure itself is in operation.

From periodic inspection to automatic defect location

SENSOR DDS® offers several levels of permanent waterproofing and liner integrity monitoring, depending on the level of control the structure requires. The foundation can be periodic expert inspection with permanently installed sensors, carried out by a Sensor technician directly on site once or twice a year. If the structure needs protection beyond scheduled annual inspections, the system can be extended with an alarm module that alerts the operator to a problem. For more demanding structures, SENSOR DDS® provides online systems with continuous supervision or fully automatic defect location of the liner.
A geomembrane or waterproofing liner protects a structure against water and moisture ingress. Regular liner integrity monitoring is therefore especially important for landfills, reservoirs, roofs, building foundations and other technical structures.

Comprehensive Geomembrane and Liner Integrity Monitoring

Basic level of protection

SENSOR DDS® LMS - Periodic Expert Liner Integrity Inspection

SENSOR DDS® LMS is the basic level of waterproofing and liner integrity monitoring. A sensor network is built into the structure, allowing scheduled inspection of the waterproofing liner condition. The measurement itself is carried out by a Sensor technician directly on site using professional measuring equipment.

The system makes it possible to verify liner integrity after construction completion, after installation works or during scheduled service inspections - including checks at intervals required by the environmental inspectorate.

Learn more about SENSOR DDS® LMS
  • Expert liner diagnostics with a certificate
  • Scheduled site inspections and measurements 1-2 times per year
  • Low operating costs
  • Suitable for standard and lower-risk structures
  • Certificate of liner integrity after each monitoring inspection
Simply put

LMS works like expert diagnostics for waterproofing liners. Sensors are built into the structure and the technician uses them during inspection to verify whether the waterproofing layer is damaged or watertight.

Medium level of protection

SENSOR DDS® LAM - Alarm Module with Subsequent Defect Location

SENSOR DDS® LAM is an alarm detection system that increases the level of waterproofing liner protection. Its role is to provide a real-time warning that a problem or suspected damage has occurred in the waterproofing liner.

LAM can be combined with the LMS system - creating a built-in measuring network while adding an alarm function. If the system detects a problem, it alerts the responsible person and a Sensor technician comes to the site to perform expert measurement and locate the defect.

However, LAM does not have to be used only in combination with the LMS system. It can also operate as a standalone alarm module. If a permanent LMS system - meaning a built-in sensor network - is not present in the structure, leak location after the alarm is carried out using portable systems SENSOR DDS® MIT or SENSOR DDS® Mobile.

Learn more about SENSOR DDS® LAM
  • Immediate alert for a waterproofing liner problem
  • Automatic alarm system
  • Subsequent expert defect location by a technician
  • Protection between scheduled annual inspections
  • A reasonable balance between cost and safety

Suitable for:

Smaller reservoirs Residential roofs Technical areas Waterproofing under structures Important structures without the highest risk level
Simply put

LAM immediately alerts you that a leak has appeared in the waterproofing liner. However, another SENSOR DDS® system is required for its precise location.

High level of protection

SENSOR DDS® RMS - Semi-automatic 24/7 Online Liner Monitoring

SENSOR DDS® RMS is an active online monitoring system. The waterproofing liner is monitored continuously and the system can send an alert when a leak occurs in real time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If a leak occurs, the system automatically sends an alert and a remote leak location measurement is then initiated. Travelling to the site is therefore not required as it is with LMS measurement.

Learn more about SENSOR DDS® RMS
  • Continuous 24/7 online waterproofing liner monitoring
  • Automatic real-time alerts and alarms
  • Fast response and reduced environmental damage
  • Remote defect location without the need for a site visit
  • Higher level of safety than LMS and LAM
Simply put

RMS is online supervision of the waterproofing liner. The system continuously monitors its condition 24/7 and alerts you if a problem appears. The client therefore does not react late - only after the defect becomes visible or causes damage.

Maximum level of protection

SENSOR DDS® CMS - Fully Automatic Monitoring with Defect Location

SENSOR DDS® CMS is the highest level of waterproofing liner monitoring. It is a fully automatic system that continuously monitors the condition of the waterproofing liner and, in the event of a defect, can automatically identify the location or sector of the damage, including GPS coordinates.

CMS is a solution for structures that require the maximum level of control, fast response and risk minimisation. Compared with LMS, LAM and RMS, it provides the highest operating comfort - the system evaluates the condition itself and helps identify the damaged area without manual searching.

Learn more about SENSOR DDS® CMS
  • Automatic detection and immediate defect location
  • Immediate identification of the damaged area, including GPS coordinates
  • Maximum safety and risk minimisation
  • Fully automatic 24/7 operation without human intervention
  • The highest level of comfort for structure management and operation
Simply put

CMS is the most advanced solution. The system not only alerts you that the waterproofing liner has a problem, but also helps determine where the damage is located.
