System SENSORLINE®

Due to the specific requirements of the drinking water industry, we have developed a system that meets all the high standards required in this sector. We call it SENSORLINE®.

SENSORLINE® is a system approved for contact with drinking water under Regulation 31. The use of the SENSORLINE® system enables the detection and localization of leaks from drinking water reservoirs. SENSORLINE® is available in thicknesses from 0.75 mm to 2.5 mm and is supplied with either a smooth or anti-slip surface.

In addition to drinking water storage applications, SENSORLINE® can also be used to protect raw water storage facilities, such as retention tanks and lakes. Thanks to its wide roll format, it helps increase installation speed by minimizing on-site welding.

  • SENSORLINE® rolls can be cut down to any required size for use on smaller sites where handling large rolls is limited.
  • The anti-slip version of SENSORLINE® can be applied to the bottom of a drinking water reservoir to help prevent slips and falls by maintenance personnel during cleaning.
  • SENSORLINE® is a robust material with high puncture resistance, allowing surfaces lined with SENSORLINE® to be cleaned using high-pressure water jets without concern about damaging the liner.

Floating Cover Reservoir - SENSOR DDS® FIXED (SENSOR DDS® RMS)

General project information:

  • Industrial waste from production
  • Area: 20,000 m²
  • SENSOR DDS® RMS 24/7 continuous monitoring system with SENSORLINE®
  • Sensor grid: 5 x 5 m – resolution of approximately 25 m²
  • 800 sensors and 78 km of cables were used
  • Two layers of 1.00 mm SENSORLINE® liner

Floating cover lagoons are designed to meet the following criteria:

  • Prevent rainwater or snow from entering the lagoon
  • Eliminate the impact of wind
  • Allow the enclosed lagoon to be degassed
  • Eliminate the formation and accumulation of foam, oils and grease on the walls of the enclosed lagoon
  • Prevent liquid from leaking from the lagoon into the surrounding environment

For this lagoon, we applied our zero-tolerance leak philosophy, which means that in addition to installing a permanent leak monitoring system, we also monitored the construction process and the first trial filling of the lagoon. The entire process consisted of:

The SENSOR DDS® RMS system installed at this site has the following parameters:

  • Online connectivity and remote system management
  • Continuous liner integrity monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Immediate notifications via SMS/email
  • Full access to Sensor Cloud
  • Fast leak localization
  • Security camera
  • Weather station
  • 10″ Full HD display
  • Event history for the last 12 months
  • Backup batteries enabling full system operation for up to 3 days

Verified Leak Detection During Trial Filling

During the trial filling of the lagoon, the SENSOR DDS® RMS system successfully detected a leak and automatically activated an alarm. The client was immediately informed about the damage to the upper liner via SMS and email. Filling was stopped immediately, and the precise location of the defect was delivered to the client within 48 hours. It was later confirmed that this was an intentionally created test leak used to verify the functionality of the system. Since 2018, this lagoon has been continuously monitored using the SENSOR DDS® RMS system.

Our zero-tolerance leak philosophy can be applied to water reservoirs, lakes, lagoons and other industrial water storage facilities.
